Blah, blah, blog

Get a life

A year ago, I began to get to grips with the variety of apps and websites that help me in my work every day. I’ve finally got them working in a way that suit my needs. All integrated and with Trello at the centre keeping everything together (Louise Purvis, will be happy to see this, reach out for her for tips or read her blog here).

There are lots of overlaps, but no one app seems to do everything, and perhaps that’s best. Focussing on the core purpose of the app has definitely reduced my overwhelm.

Which apps do you find the most useful?
Here are mine, starting from the top, working clockwise, as I nurture opportunities and projects into clients.

Insightly; a CRM tool that is the starting point for new leads/opportunity tracking.
Todoist; handy lists of things “to do” [I use this least, preferring Post-It notes].
Notes; the Apple version is brilliant for keeping quick ideas and links as I start to think about clients, particularly useful on the go.
Evernote; Verbal reference; I scan all my meeting notes/Post-It notes and keep them with longer useful articles.
Pinterest; Visual reference for the brands I’m working on.
Dropbox; File storage for projects, proposals, so they’re accessible anywhere.
Xero; financial management, if a lead makes it this far, they’re about to get an invoice!!!!
Trello; at the heart of my app eco system. It is so useful for organising everything and the central point for linking all the others together.
