Mind blown
I spend a lot of time thinking about client problems. Blank sheets of paper get filled with scribbles. I consider the audience. I soak up the world around me looking for inspiration. I develop the strategy. After a period of uncertainty, I experience a moment of clarity when an idea forms.
I see it on the page.
I know it’s the right answer.
Afterall, I did all the thinking to create it.
But wait. I still need to share it with the client.
Will they like it? Will they understand it?
Self-doubt creeps in.
You wait for the client feedback.
Maybe it’s not as good as I thought?
Maybe it’s too simple?
Then, the first words from the client;
“Mind blown”.
Do you experience self-doubt? Maybe it has a positive purpose. The moment before a reveal has an unpredictable excitement about it. No matter how many times you’ve performed successfully, a moment of reflection keeps you in check.
It’s the reason I love creative challenges.
I don’t know the answer. But I’ll work it out.
